Woca Oils for Wooden Floors

We offer advice on the best type of buffing and maintaining oil-treated wood floors, Suitable for both hand and machine application .Whatever your needs we are sure we can meet your requirements
                                            Woca Maintenance Oil

Maintain an oiled wooden floor by using these natural Woca Oils from Denmark after preparation by wet cleaning with intensive wood cleaner. Sanding or scraping is not normally required. Only a small quantity of oil is needed to smooth loose wood fibres and repair any wear to the protective finish. Hence, this oil has a low viscosity to allow a very thin application. Maintenance is necessary when the floor has become worn. Maintenance Oil is also used during the commercial application of Master Oil, or to thin Master or Colour Oil for manual application.

Use White Maintenance Oil when re-oiling white oiled floors. If a white oiled floor has been damaged or sanded then touch-up the area with Colour Oil 188, extra white. Factory white-oiled floors can often be whiter than your repaired spot. If so do not repair with oil, but White Soap concentrate.

Usage Guide

Before a new floor is taken into use it is recommended to buff it – both industrially oiled floors and residentially oiled floors. The final buffing provides a hard-wearing surface and may take place either by hand or with machine. Oiled floors should be maintened regularly – normally once a year, but more often when it comes to floors exposed to extremely hard wear.

  1. Clean the floor with 125 ml Wood Cleaner mixed into 5l water. Leave the floor to dry for at least 8 hours. The floor must be completely dry.
  2. Shake the container carefully. Apply approx. 100 ml oil per 4 m² with pad, paint roller, cotton cloth or use polishing machine for large surfaces.
  3. It is important that the Maintenance Oil is carefully polished into the wood. Continue polishing until the wood appears saturated and the surface looks uniform.

Wipe the floor with clean, dry cotton cloths before proceeding with the next section of floor to be finished. The floor should not appear wet and there should not be any excess oil left on the surface after polishing. Continue in sections untill the floor has been finished. When polished with polishing machine the floor will be pre-hardened after approx. 4 hours at 20° C and may cautiously be taken into use. Manually polished floors may be taken into use after 24 hours. The surface is fully hardened after 24 hours. Do not expose the floor to water during the hardening time.

Flooring

One thing that is common to all homes is flooring. It is one of the first things a visitor sees on entering a house. So it is very important that it looks right. First impressions count.

A house may have wood flooring, carpeted flooring, tiled flooring or any other kind of flooring that is preferred. However wood flooring is ever-popular. When it comes to wood flooring, it usually means hardwood flooring. It can be solid flooring or laminate, and both are extremely hard wearing and durable and of course, with wood flooring there are so many different kinds of wood to choose from. For example, oak, beech, maple and mahogany are all familiar materials for wood flooring.

Oak flooring is usually nailed to the sub floor for stability. It is a popular choice due to its durability and hardwearing properties. If the flooring is subject to heavy traffic, oak flooring can be sanded, refinished, or re-coated numerous times .As a result ,it can always looks new and fresh.

Bamboo flooring is a new innovation in the wood flooring market. It has some remarkable qualities, as hard as hard maple, more stable and harder than red oak. And it is made from grass, not wood. Bamboo flooring can give the natural beauty of wood in your home without you having to feel that your choice in home improvements is having a damaging affect on environment. During the manufacturing process, bamboo is treated to prevent insect and mildew damage and to conform to both residential and commercial fire prevention standards.

There is something about real wood flooring that seems to appeal to everyone. Maybe it is the feeling that wood flooring is solid, dependable and not artificial in any way that makes it so attractive. Or perhaps it is the fact that wood flooring is so versatile. There is so much you can do with flooring if you get fed up with your present wood flooring look. Of course, there are many other different kinds of materials that floors can be made from, not all floors are made from wood. However, when u love your floor the way it is, that is all that matters.
